In 2022, TavernAI users invented a way to package, compartmentalize, and exchange AI prompts. JSON and PNG intertwined to form the first Character Card.

Since then, information about this hobby has been scattered across the internet and locked behind closed doors. zaicc.net is the collection and publication of this knowledge.

Character Cards are images (typically PNG) which contain a scenario or personality for an AI to reference while interacting with a user (you!). These can be used for customizing assistants, interactive storytelling, long-form writing or even roleplay!

These settings are contained within the image as metadata, simplifying creation, exchange, and management of these Cards (sometimes called Bots).
