Interfaces

A Character Card only comes to life when used with software that provides the chat interface.

Software

  • Mobile Support: Which mobile platforms can run this interface
  • Desktop Support: Which desktop platforms can run this interface
  • Hosts Web Interface: If the interface is used from a web browser, potentially on other platforms
  • Backend Included: Interface runs Local LLMs without additional software or third-party APIs
Name Mobile Support Desktop Support Hosts Web Interface Backend Included
LocalTavern iOS, visionOS macOS
SillyTavern Android* macOS, Linux, Windows
agnai Source-only
CardShark Windows ?
ChatterUI Android
Front Porch AI macOS, Linux, Windows
PocketTavern Android
TavernAI (abandoned) Source-only

Websites

Several websites also offer chat interfaces, usually alongside their own card library. While availability is a strength, privacy should not be expected. Furthermore, changing policies can see your favorite cards disappear overnight.

Notes

While these lists cannot contain all possible interface projects, the guidelines for including an interface are as follows:

  • Supports PNG character cards in CCv2/CCv3 format
  • Actively developed and maintained
  • Able to be used/deployed without compilation/complex processes (binary releases)
  • A certain degree of popularity or usage, and enough information to write a page on it
  • Other noteworthiness or historical significance
